These unusual pieces of street furniture are in the pavement of Staple Inn, just off Holborn, London EC1. Each word was cast as a discrete metal block, and then these were individually embedded into the asphalt. You can toggle the caption bar on and off by clicking on the image.

Streets: Emperor Rothko

These parking indicators are from Newmarket Road, Norwich. The weather-worn yellow paint has become a sheet, separate from the gutter, which has curled and been squashed like a tin can. The images reminded me of Mark Rothko paintings, and the title resonates between Rothko’s name and that of a DJ from my teenage years.
