Phil Gray is an artist and designer
After a career in design education, I have returned to creating art for exhibition. My current work is predicated on a deep commitment to lettering and typography, which commenced during my childhood and became central to my work during more than thirty years in graphic design.
My freelance design practice has continued throughout this time. As one half of gris.gris (with Willi Gray) I have worked in a number of media, from print design to mural to book design and editing to cards and paper sculpture. You can find some of this joint work in the gris.gris section of this site.
You can also find a continually growing collection of my source material at The Visual Dictionary where I go by the nom du net of unclephil.
All of the pieces featured on the site are available for purchase as A2 giclee prints on museum quality paper for £150.00 plus postage.
If you are interested in purchasing one of the original signed pieces (these are mostly A1 or A0 in size), or commissioning a bespoke piece, please contact me to discuss the price.
